The Stoke on Trent based ceramic company is a market leader in making porcelain flagons for the global distilling industry and one of their latest innovations has been to introduce a one-way valve in the product’s neck making it next to impossible for would-be counterfeiters to refill branded-empties with low quality cheap spirit.
The company hopes to produce 2m flagons a year at their new £7m facility in Etruria. The Business Innovation Centre would also like to congratulate M&M Vehicle Repairs and The Smart Timber Frame Company who were also short-listed for the award.
2010 saw the Business Innovation Centre sponsoring the Sentinel Business Awards for the 10th year in a row. The Staffordshire BIC sees the Awards as an ideal way to promote new product development and is constantly amazed at the level of Innovation shown by local companies. Focussing on innovation has to be a way out of the recession for local companies.
