Medical & Health Care Technology

The Medical & Health Care Technology Sector has been highlighted for quite some time as a growing industry sector and the Business Innovation Centre is keen to encourage and support local businesses to take advantage of this.
The BIC helped to build up a Medical Cluster based around Keele University Science Park and to date the Business Innovation Centre has secured over £400,000 to companies based in ICIII and ICIV to help pay towards their rent and
secured research and development funds for those companies.
In addition the Staffordshire BIC has worked very closely with Medilink West Midlands which is a regional network for companies involved in the manufacture, supply and distribution of medical and healthcare products. Medilink brings together medical and healthcare companies, universities, hospitals and community trusts for profitable developments in healthcare. The BIC has introduced more than 30 companies to Medilink and worked very closely with 12 companies, generating or safeguarding numerous jobs.
